Dr. Valery is committed to advancing the standard of clinical education in sexology by integrating Instructional Psychology, neuroscience, and evidence-based therapeutic practice. Dr. V’s work is grounded in the principle that complex psychological and neurobiological concepts must be translated into structured, accessible learning experiences in order to foster meaningful clinical application.

She approaches scholarly writing, course development, and professional lectures as intentionally designed learning environments. Drawing from Social Cognitive Theory, her work emphasizes scaffolded learning processes that support the development of self-efficacy in both clinicians and the clients they serve. By structuring knowledge in ways that align with cognitive processing and emotional regulation, her goal is to ensure that scientific insight can be translated into sustainable behavioral and relational change.

Dr. Valery’s professional affiliations include the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) International Association, and advanced training through The Gottman Institute (Level 3). She also holds a specialization in Trauma Therapy and certifications in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Nature Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These affiliations and certifications reflect a commitment to the highest standards of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and ethical clinical application within the field of sexual health and relationship science.

Central to her scholarly and clinical work is what she refers to as the “double-bottom line” of clinical sexology: the integration of rigorous empirical research with compassionate therapeutic implementation. Dr. V’s writing and teaching explore the intersection of neuroscience, relational dynamics, and emerging cultural influences, including the evolving impact of digital media on intimacy and relational trust. Through this lens, she analyzes phenomena such as contemporary patterns of digital betrayal and the ways technology can both support and disrupt relational attachment systems.

In addition to traditional therapeutic frameworks, her work explores the integration of nature-informed and somatic approaches to support relational healing and intimacy restoration. By combining insights from neuroscience, attachment research, and environmental psychology, she seeks to develop clinically grounded interventions that support regulation, reconnection, and long-term relationship satisfaction.

Whether contributing to scholarly publications, collaborating with academic institutions, or developing clinician training materials, her focus remains consistent: bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and practical therapeutic application. Through the integration of neuroscience, ethical clinical practice, and thoughtfully designed educational frameworks, my work aims to strengthen the human capacity for secure connection, relational resilience, and enduring intimacy.
